With updated video capabilities and a refined design, the Panasonic Lumix GH5 II provides a professional-quality imaging platform for shooters who demand versatile video and photo capabilities in one compact camera. Equipped with an AR-coated 20.3MP Live MOS sensor, the camera records DCI and UHD 4K with the full sensor area and can internally reproduce 10-bit 4: 2: 0 up to 60p or 4: 2: 2 at 30p. The GH5 II offers unlimited video recording to reduce downtime when shooting, and the camera comes with V-Log L pre-installed for multi-camera recording, making it easy to match color tone with footage recorded from other series cameras VariCam. The included DMW-BLK22 battery provides approximately 410 shots per charge when using the rear monitor or electronic viewfinder, and the large capacity battery can be charged quickly with the supplied USB 3.1 Type-C cable.

The easy-to-use Lumix Sync app for smartphones and tablets provides high-quality live streams with minimal equipment. Live streaming via router is also available with Lumix network setup software. Whether indoors or outdoors, only the camera and a smartphone are required to reach an audience, making the GH5 II an ideal camera for electronic news gathering, travel, events, conferences and live commerce applications.

20.3MP live digital MOS sensor with AR coating and Venus motor
Featuring a 20.3MP Digital Live MOS sensor with a newly developed AR Coating, the GH5 II boasts an evolved Venus Engine Imaging Processor. These updates suppress ghosting and flare in backlit scenes, offer a 25% increase in dynamic range, and improve color gradation and reproduction. Multipixel Luminance Generation technology maximizes sharpness and faithfully reproduces brightly illuminated scenes. It offers excellent three-dimension color control and precise noise reduction techniques for shooting at sensitivities up to ISO 25600. It also enables shooting speeds up to 12 fps with AF-S or manual focus modes.
4K video recording
The GH5 II offers exceptional video performance for professional videography and is capable of recording unlimited video in various settings. It can record DCI and UHD 4K 60p 4: 2: 0 10-bit and simultaneously output 4: 2: 2 10-bit over HDMI while recording 4K 60p 4: 2: 0 10-bit internal. There is an HDMI port on the camera for high quality output for use with external monitors and recorders. The camera also offers high bit rate recording for highly detailed images free of compression artifacts.

For more advanced users, multiple Picture Styles provide two types of Cinelike gamma settings in the Picture Style. With these modes, warm skin tones or delicate shades of light and shadow can be reproduced without color gradation on V-Log footage. The Cinelike D2 setting prioritizes dynamic range while Cinelike V2 prioritizes contrast. L. Monochrome S and L. Classic Neo have also been added and all of these modes can be used for anamorphic video recording.

GH5 II is designed to be an expandable system, with more options available to enhance video recording capabilities. Examples of this are an optional XLR microphone adapter that provides XLR inputs and physical controls via a hot shoe connection. Users can also use standard microphones and headphones via the 3.5mm input and output jacks.
Wireless and wired live streaming
Designed for ENG, travel, event, lecture, and live commerce applications, the easy-to-use Lumix Sync app provides high quality livestreaming with minimum equipment. Whether indoors or outdoors, only the camera and a smartphone are required. Livestreaming via a router is available as well with Lumix Network Setting Software. Additionally, wired USB-LAN IP livestreaming will be supported by a future firmware update.
Auto focus system with 225-area depth and blur
Boasting a high-speed, high-precision autofocus system, the GH5 II incorporates advanced deep learning technology to detect specific subjects including humans and fast-moving animals. Improved tracking performance quickly recognizes the face and eyes of moving subjects and the human body from a background of moving subjects. The camera keeps tracking the person even if he or she moves quickly, turns their back to the camera, tilts their head, or moves far away. This contrast detection type of focus method benefits both still and video recording modes, as well as subject tracking applications where color, size, and motion vectors are used to intelligently lock-onto the moving subjects and ensure precise focus. Depth-from-Defocus technology offers lightning-fast calculation of spatial informatio

The LUMIX GH5 camera produces extremely realistic and detailed high-resolution images, with exceptional colors. Thanks to the new Digital LIVE MOS sensor, the resolution goes from 16.05 to 20.3 MP: 25% more than the LUMIX GH4, also eliminating the Low Pass Filter. This camera is also equipped with a new Venus Engine image processor, which notably improves the Natural Texture Expression. The engine's multi-pixel luminance generator produces crisp, clear images, relying - during the demosaicing process - on a 9 times larger pixel information area. With intelligent detail processing, the characteristics of each pixel are analyzed to determine whether it is at a neutral or peripheral point in the image or if it is part of a detail. After that, the pixel is processed according to its characteristics. The result is a very high-precision, natural, extraordinarily detailed image with no distorted colors at the edges. The three-dimensional color control detects not only hue and saturation, but also brightness, applying optimal control based on the value of each factor. In this way, the colors of the image are intense, both in the dark and in the bright parts. The conventional Multi Process NR noise reduction process has been enhanced and transformed into High Precision Multi Process NR, which is four times more accurate in detecting noise than the previous model and capable of retaining detail even after the operation is complete. This allows you to take pictures with ISO sensitivities up to 25600. The new LUMIX GH5 incorporates the Dual I.S. 2 with 5 axes, which effectively eliminates blur in photos and videos (even in 4K). By combining an O.I.S. with two axes and a stabilizer integrated into the B.I.S. five-axis, the camera compensates for larger, usually uncontrollable movements. The LUMIX GH5 camera's high-precision gyro sensor controls O.I.S. and B.I.S., examining the focal length and shooting conditions and allowing the use of a slower shutter speed (up to 5 stops). All this contributes to considerably improving not only the shots taken with wide angle and telephoto lens, but also those obtained in less than optimal conditions (for example at night or holding the camera with one hand).

The LUMIX GH5 camera uses a contrast AF system with renewed DFD (Depth from Defocus) technology that not only calculates the distance to the subject by evaluating two images with different levels of sharpness, but also analyzes the shape, size and even movement of the subject. as a whole. Thanks to the new Venus Engine, the measurement of distance to the subject is 6 times faster, while the speed of planar or depth distance factorization has been doubled. The speed of the sensor actuation system during autofocus has been increased to 480 fps, twice that of the GH4 model. Therefore, the LUMIX GH5 offers ultra-fast autofocus of approximately 0.05 sec. and continuous shooting at 12 fps (AFS) and 9 fps (AFC), with a full resolution mechanical shutter. A careful analysis of the individual frames shows a detection accuracy up to 200% higher, with minimal error in the detection of movements, ensuring a better tracking tolerance with moving subjects. Focus areas have been increased from 49 to 225. Depending on the composition, users can create a group of focus areas and control them easily via a new joystick placed near the thumb, without taking their eyes off the subject. This is also possible when using the Live View Finder (LVF) or taking your finger off the shutter button. The Post Focus function allows you to select the focus point even after shooting. The function is particularly useful in situations that require very specific focus, such as macro shots. The camera is also equipped with a Focus Stacking function, capable of facilitating macro shots, where focusing can be more difficult: you can obtain multiple images of the same frame, with different focus points, and then combine them into a unique image by applying the desired blur.
