The LUMIX GH5 camera produces extremely realistic and detailed high-resolution images, with exceptional colors. Thanks to the new Digital LIVE MOS sensor, the resolution goes from 16.05 to 20.3 MP: 25% more than the LUMIX GH4, also eliminating the Low Pass Filter. This camera is also equipped with a new Venus Engine image processor, which notably improves the Natural Texture Expression. The engine's multi-pixel luminance generator produces crisp, clear images, relying - during the demosaicing process - on a 9 times larger pixel information area. With intelligent detail processing, the characteristics of each pixel are analyzed to determine whether it is at a neutral or peripheral point in the image or if it is part of a detail. After that, the pixel is processed according to its characteristics. The result is a very high-precision, natural, extraordinarily detailed image with no distorted colors at the edges. The three-dimensional color control detects not only hue and saturation, but also brightness, applying optimal control based on the value of each factor. In this way, the colors of the image are intense, both in the dark and in the bright parts. The conventional Multi Process NR noise reduction process has been enhanced and transformed into High Precision Multi Process NR, which is four times more accurate in detecting noise than the previous model and capable of retaining detail even after the operation is complete. This allows you to take pictures with ISO sensitivities up to 25600. The new LUMIX GH5 incorporates the Dual I.S. 2 with 5 axes, which effectively eliminates blur in photos and videos (even in 4K). By combining an O.I.S. with two axes and a stabilizer integrated into the B.I.S. five-axis, the camera compensates for larger, usually uncontrollable movements. The LUMIX GH5 camera's high-precision gyro sensor controls O.I.S. and B.I.S., examining the focal length and shooting conditions and allowing the use of a slower shutter speed (up to 5 stops). All this contributes to considerably improving not only the shots taken with wide angle and telephoto lens, but also those obtained in less than optimal conditions (for example at night or holding the camera with one hand).

The LUMIX GH5 camera uses a contrast AF system with renewed DFD (Depth from Defocus) technology that not only calculates the distance to the subject by evaluating two images with different levels of sharpness, but also analyzes the shape, size and even movement of the subject. as a whole. Thanks to the new Venus Engine, the measurement of distance to the subject is 6 times faster, while the speed of planar or depth distance factorization has been doubled. The speed of the sensor actuation system during autofocus has been increased to 480 fps, twice that of the GH4 model. Therefore, the LUMIX GH5 offers ultra-fast autofocus of approximately 0.05 sec. and continuous shooting at 12 fps (AFS) and 9 fps (AFC), with a full resolution mechanical shutter. A careful analysis of the individual frames shows a detection accuracy up to 200% higher, with minimal error in the detection of movements, ensuring a better tracking tolerance with moving subjects. Focus areas have been increased from 49 to 225. Depending on the composition, users can create a group of focus areas and control them easily via a new joystick placed near the thumb, without taking their eyes off the subject. This is also possible when using the Live View Finder (LVF) or taking your finger off the shutter button. The Post Focus function allows you to select the focus point even after shooting. The function is particularly useful in situations that require very specific focus, such as macro shots. The camera is also equipped with a Focus Stacking function, capable of facilitating macro shots, where focusing can be more difficult: you can obtain multiple images of the same frame, with different focus points, and then combine them into a unique image by applying the desired blur.
